The vehicle selected for this project is a Fiat Ducato, chosen for its good payload capacity, ease of maneuverability, and ample space for integrating professional equipment and onboard systems.
The fit-out was developed to respond concretely to the service needs of the Civil Protection of Como, with equipment that combines safety and operational capability.
Installed on the vehicle are:
- 3 electric water boilers;
- a two-group coffee machine with steam wand, integrated boiler, and built-in tank;
- microwave oven;
- electric slicer;
- two-door refrigerated column unit;
- electric power generator;
- rear-view camera;
- blue warning lights mounted on the front section of the cab roof;
- water system;
- electrical system;
- interior and exterior lighting system;
- air-conditioning system.
This eco food truck is designed to serve users quickly and efficiently.
The three electric boilers and the two-group coffee machine with steam functionality make it possible to manage beverage service effectively, even in fast-moving or high-pressure situations. The microwave expands the vehicle’s capacity for rapid food preparation, while the electric slicer streamlines the organization of snacks, sandwiches, and portions intended for refreshment service.
The refrigerated column unit, split evenly between refrigerator and freezer, offers maximum flexibility in storing perishable food items, ensuring ingredients remain at controlled temperatures.
Alongside the catering equipment, the onboard systems respond directly to the client’s operational requirements. The generator ensures continuity of service; the water and electrical systems provide autonomy; the interior and exterior lighting improves vehicle accessibility and extends operational capability even in low-visibility conditions; and the air-conditioning system helps maintain a comfortable working environment on board, a far from secondary aspect when the vehicle is called upon to operate in hot and humid settings.
The result is a food truck genuinely capable of assisting people, fully consistent with the mission of the Civil Protection service.
